From personal experience, I can say that writing is the hardest section for the IELTS test. In total, the writing section lasts for an hour and contains 2 parts: summarizing information from a graph/diagram, and writing out opinion based on a given prompt. Although the time isn’t limited to write a single part of the writing test, it is recommended that 20 minutes should be spent on the first part and 40 minutes on the second part since it is longer.
In part 1, a diagram will be given and you will need to summarize the diagram in ideally 150-200 words with a minimum at 150 words.
In part 2, a prompt asking for your opinion on a subject matter will be given and you would need to answer in ideally 250-300 words, with the minimum being set at 250 words.
For writing, I’d recommend just practicing the writing task by writing more often and letting someone else or a website check your writing as well as reading more often to improve vocabulary.
